What is the Georgia Hall Learning Living Community?

The mission of the Georgia Hall Living and Learning Community at Valdosta State University is to provide the stimulation and growth of motivated Panhellenic women so that they achieve their full leadership potential, while at the same time providing guidance and support for such women’s’ individual success and endeavors. The Georgia Hall Living and Learning Community encourages meaningful connections between classroom knowledge, leadership development, civic engagement and community involvement.

What Do the Dorms look like?

Georgia Hall provides students the option of either semi-private suites that house 4 residents, or private suites that house 2 residents. Both styles have a bathroom in the suite. 

How Do I Apply For the Learning Living Community?

  • Login to your student Banner account

  • Click on the “Student Services and Financial Aid” Tab

  • Click on “Housing Application”

  • Click on “Fall Application”

  • Make Georgia Hall your #1 or #2 choice

  • Click “Save”

 Recommendation            Letters          

Are Recommendation Letters Required/Recommended?

Letters of recommendation are by no means required for membership within any of our chapters, but you are still welcome to send them in! Not sending in letters will in no way hurt your chances of joining a chapter!

How Do I Submit Letters?

Although not required, if you would like to have a letter sent on your behalf please address them to the individual chapter addresses listed on their websites. Chapter websites can be found: www.valdosta.edu/greek

Is There a Required High School GPA to Join Greek Life?

While the College Panhellenic Council (CPC) of Valdosta State University does not deter any woman from participating in Formal Recruitment based on GPA, a majority of chapters are seeking women with a minimum of a 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale) and/or a 72 (on a 100 point scale). The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life at Valdosta State University requires that every student participating in recruitment has a minimum 2.5 GPA as calculated by the Office of Admissions. This GPA is unweighted.​

Is There a Required College GPA to Join Greek Life?

Current Valdosta State University students who transferred to the University with an established college GPA may join at any time during their collegiate careers given that they have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher based on 12 or more credit hours, a minimum semester GPA of a 2.50 the semester prior to joining and successfully completed 12 or more hours at Valdosta State University.
